Based in Los Angeles, the GSCP Business Development Executive/Managing Director position is exciting, offering a myriad of opportunities and responsibilities with the primary focus of identifying, underwriting and closing mezzanine and preferred equity investment opportunities in the Western United States. This position offers the potential to rapidly grow, to have a participating interest in investments, and to become one of the senior leaders in the company as it expands.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, underwriting and closing mezzanine and preferred equity investments in the Western United States by forming business relationships with developers and investors, which includes business development, preparing investment presentations, and enhancing cultivated sponsor/partnership relationships. 
  • Performing initial analysis of proposed new investments including economics, proposed capital budgets, leasing plans and final disposition strategy.
  • Performing initial due diligence of proposed investment transactions and preparation of transaction support, and writing proposal for final investment committee presentation.
  • Supporting asset management including preparation of reports, asset site inspections, and maintaining sponsor relationships.
  • Supporting management in preparation of strategy presentations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in finance business development, preferably construction lending, mezzanine, preferred equity and/or joint venture equity.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with strong writing skills.
  • Excel, Argus, Financial Modeling experience helpful and a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team that includes the disciplines of finance, research, acquisitions, asset management, marketing and written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Western United States.
