The Valser Group is a family-owned asset management company with over 20 years of experience. We own apartment properties in California and Utah and make property enhancements that add investment value while also improving residents’ quality of life. Valser is currently based out of Phoenix, AZ and headquartered in Co-Hoots, a vibrant co-working space composed of other small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Valser has an immediate career opportunity for an Asset Management Assistant. This position involves supporting the properties’ day-to-day operations and managing the sites’ property management team, while also providing direct support to the President. In working directly with a real estate owner with over 20 years’ experience in apartment investments, the position will provide experience in multiple aspects of the business, spanning everything from asset management to corporate responsibilities of the portfolio. This is an ideal position for any individual looking to broaden their knowledge in multifamily investment and ownership, and would be a perfect fit for someone with prior experience as a property manager, real estate analyst, executive assistant in real estate, or other relevant real estate experience looking to broaden their apartment investment knowledge.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing asset management of third-party managed apartment properties
  • Analyzing property-level financials, budgets and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
  • Monitoring the leasing and marketing of properties
  • Directing and overseeing property management team
  • Developing and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Reviewing, auditing, and producing various performance-based reports for the company
  • Providing insights and recommendations to optimize portfolio performance
  • Brainstorming and researching new business development projects
  • Visiting properties in California and Utah quarterly to ensure property performance and maintenance

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Competency with Word, Excel, Google Suite products (Gmail, Calendar) and Asana
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong drive to succeed and works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects
  • Ability and willingness to think critically and solve “out-of-the-box” problems independently  
  • Growth-minded attitude
  • Experience and interest in the real estate industry, property management, and/or asset management (Preferred)
  • Experience overseeing a team (Preferred)
  • Previous project and/or event management (Preferred)

Salary and Benefits are as follows:

  • This is a 30 - 40 hour/week position (can be flexible on the number of hours for the right candidate)
  • Starting pay of $48k-$60k, dependent on hours, experience and qualifications
  • Total Time Off per year starts at over 3 weeks per year (6 paid holidays, 10 PTO days)
