POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to lead all finance, accounting, and treasury-related functions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong sense of individual work ethic and can self-motivate. You ll also need an exceptional entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the ability to manage highly complex national and global relationships among partners, investors, and municipalities.
The CFO will lead a small but exceptional team. This position requires a strong understanding of real estate finance and accounting and audit practices, budget-to actual comparisons, and acquisition/disposition reconciliations. Specific activities include, but are not limited to:
- Working alongside outside CPAs and investment partners to oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages
- Work closely with the CEO in developing strategies to ensure the organization has the financial resources needed to achieve its current and future goals
- Comply with all local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting requirements
- Oversee financial reporting
- Assist in creating an organizational structure within the accounting department to facilitate the achievement of short term and long-term goals/objectives
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key financial partners including lenders, investors, partners, consultants, and vendors
- Prepare and track execution of annual business plans
- Maintain portfolio analysis to track cash flows, capital projects and distributions
- Oversee portfolio budgeting, accounting, and cash management to ensure accurate reporting
- Assist in defining the financial strategy, manage financial capital and communicate capital requirements/implications of assets to the CEO
- Assist in calculating the net asset value (the "NAV") of each investment
- Administering entity investment ownership structures in the U.S.
- Responsible for managing and directing accurate and timely closing cycles
- Assist with regulatory compliance as required
- Close collaboration with the investment team including aspects of investment activity such as deal structuring, financial and tax DD and support with legal documentation
- Ability to calculate specific investment IRR and perform waterfall modeling for investments
- Various ad-hoc requests from senior management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of experience
- Significant experience within real estate private equity
- Significant experience working with JV partners
- Preferably at least three years in Public Accounting at a reputable regional or national CPA Firm
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA license preferred
