This individual will report directly to the Senior Investment Officer, this high-profile position will be responsible to manage investor relations processes across various departments including Accounting, Asset Management, Acquisitions/Dispositions, Operations and Marketing. These processes and reporting functions are critical to internal real estate groups ability to source, plan and execute the organizations real estate activities.

 

Reports To: VP, Finance

Essential Functions:

  • Manages reporting and analysis of investment activities including quarterly investor reporting, periodic internal and external reporting of investment activity, underwriting variance analyses, deal specific and ad hoc analysis, as well as management of internal systems used to support investor relations related activities.
  • Maintains and builds out current investor relations platform. This includes monthly audits and the creation of comprehensive quarterly updates which outline property level KPI’s.
  • Supports senior team in equity planning and general FP&A. Manage equity investment tracking and progress.
  • Sets up both monthly and quarterly distributions in investor relations platform. Ensure distributions are paid and properly communicated to investors.
  • Collaborates across internal teams to select and implement new software systems to support investor relations processes and reporting requirements.
  • Prepares sales analysis for investors outlining projected IRR, equity multiple and relevant tax implications.
  • Provides quarterly/annual updates to investors including but not limited to variance reports and key business plan developments.
  • Serves as the accounting point of contact for all investor related requests. This includes fielding questions related to distributions, depreciation, tax returns and any property level updates.
  • Serves as acquisitions point of contact for all purchase and sale activity. Assists acquisitions team with various financial statement requests throughout the deal process. This includes signing off on expenses, pro forma financials and lender/investor requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Economics preferred.
  • At least five years’ experience in real estate or related field.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher, as well as proficiency in Internet research.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills including financial analysis, statistical analysis and business case development.
  • Project management skills including organizing, multitasking, and budget reconciliation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate and interact with personnel at all levels throughout the organization; possesses good interpersonal skills; team management skills including participation, engages on difficult issues, and effectively influences non-direct reports.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% annually.
  • Able to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously, including project administration, monitoring, and execution; possess good organizational skills

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends and non-traditional holidays.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency required.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Talking and expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Visual requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.
  • Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct.
  • Ability to tolerate stressful situations.
  • Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision.
