Description
Butler Enterprises, focused on the development, operation and management of retail, office and residential property is in search of a self-directed and experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of the Accounting department. The person will be responsible for financial accounting and reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Support senior management through monthly and quarterly financial statement reporting, variance analyses and cashflow projections
• Present financial metrics at monthly Ownership meetings
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Coordinate the preparation of federal and state tax returns. Ensures state and local tax compliance.
• Update projected cash flow schedules throughout year
• Supervise the annual operating expense recoveries calculations (CAM reconciliation)
• Work with financial institutions to manage accounts, monitor debt service, maintain online access, wire funds, negotiate services
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Provide leadership and support to accounting staff and monitor and evaluate their performance
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA and/or advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience in Commercial Real Estate Development / Property Management.
• Detail-oriented with superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent PC skills, including advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel required and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with MRI general ledger system a definite plus.
• Oversee the administration of accounting software and supporting database
