POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager – Finance, Medical Office Properties will assist in developing key processes, reporting and modeling to help drive strategic decisions around portfolio management, operations, leasing and capital allocation for the Medical Office business segment at HCP, a diversified healthcare REIT.

This position is based in Irvine, CA at HCP’s corporate headquarters, while the majority of the Medical Office team is based in Nashville, TN.  This person should be able to work well with a team that is mostly remote, and be willing to travel 5-10% of the time to meet with the Nashville team and/or visit properties as needed. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Portfolio Management:  assist in developing a macro view of performance and key metrics that will help drive strategic decisions resulting in increased cash flows
  • Assist in certain processes related to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analyzing performance for the Medical Office business segment
  • Work with asset management, leasing and capital teams to help develop more efficient reporting and analytical tools that will provide more visibility into their performance
  • Develop a cash flow model that will enable scenario analyses around transactions and re/developments
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for internal meetings and Board meetings, summarizing key analyses
  • As required, take the lead on ad-hoc projects

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably majoring in Finance or Real Estate
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in an operating business, real estate finance, or other relevant industry
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail and quality
  • Solid understanding of key accounting and corporate finance principles
  • Financial modeling experience required
  • Experience with building out reporting tools in systems a plus (e.g., BPC)
  • Aptitude to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel; proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourceful and flexible team player who excels at building trusting relationships
  • Pro-active, self-starter attitude with curiosity to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to travel (less than 10% of the time)
