Description


Position Purpose: Responsible for the planning, design, leasing, construction, facility and property management, and workspace solutions of all Centene facilities. Acts as the subject matter expert for all facility and property-related matters. 

  • Partners with business units to create, refine and execute short- and long-term real estate strategy and master planning, location planning, and allocation and utilization of space and resources.
  • Works closely with business unit leadership to plan for future improvement projects in existing locations.
  • Leads a team responsible for construction management, leasing, interior design, moves and space planning, department finance and facilities.
  • Leads a team that coordinates and oversees construction projects which begins with the development of capital requisitions, maintaining project budgets through final completion and move-in.
  • Oversees global real estate negotiations and development, including new leases, renewals and acquisitions.
  • Guides and works closely with internal and external legal departments while negotiating new leases and renewals.
  • Guides and works closely with external real estate broker representatives leasing portfolio managers.
  • Works closely with procurement on developing and enhancing new and refining existing purchasing agreements.
  • Works closely with outside property management firm that is responsible for the Company’s current corporate headquarter office campus portfolio which encompasses all aspects of property management, annual operating expense budgeting, building maintenance, and including property management of 3rd party tenant leased spaces.
  • Works closely with HR and IT to enhance the employee experience.
  • Oversees the provision of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment for existing space.
  • Manages relationships with external suppliers for facility services.
  • Leads the development and promotion of crisis and emergency response plans.
  • Leads a team of regional leaders overseeing employee workspace and general facilities operations.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed, including International.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of facilities management, real estate development, and construction management related to large property portfolios (preferably 10M+ square feet) experience. 
  • Substantial global real estate transaction experience across acquisitions and leasing. 
  • Substantial experience leading and managing a complex global real estate portfolio, including strategy, master planning and entitlements, development, large-scale capital projects, and tenant improvements. 
  • Expertise in operations management, including development of workplace standards and strategic planning of space. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, safety systems, architectural, landscape and energy management. 
  • Deep experience in supplier selection, contract negotiations experience. Proficient computer skills including MS Project (or equivalent), AutoCAD a plus.

Licenses/Certifications: 
  • Commercial Real Estate License, Facility or Property Management Certification a plus
