Job Description

The Acquisitions and Asset Management Associate will be an integral part of both the Acquisitions and Asset Management teams, working with both the VP, Acquisitions and VP, Asset Management as well as the Investment Analyst, assisting in all aspects of the business, including direct involvement in deal underwriting, investor communications, due diligence and deal closing, as well as asset management of current portfolio assets,  including office, multi-family, hospitality, and land acquisition/new development deals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the VP, Acquisitions and VP, Asset Management on all Acquisition and Asset Management matters across office, multi-family and hospitality asset classes
  • Ability to quickly underwrite on and off-market deal opportunities to discuss with VP, Acquisitions and present investment merits
  • Prepare Investment Summaries to be distributed to be submitted to potential investor parties including project characteristics, property location and market fundamentals, and overall investment strategy and analysis 
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda as part of internal due diligence and investor deal approval process
  • Maintain deal log to be used in conjunction with communications with investors
  • Underwrite new investment opportunities by developing quantitative analytical models via Argus DCF/AE, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to underwrite and model in Excel ground-up office and multi-family development opportunities
  • Participate in the due diligence process and assist the VP, Acquisitions on all aspects of the transactions, including review of contracts (purchase and sale, loan documents, partnership agreements, leases, etc.) in connection with acquisitions, financings and dispositions
  • Create and maintain quarterly report packages needed for formal presentations with prospective and current investors
  • Develop, coordinate and foster relationships with real estate brokers and other industry counterparts
  • Support asset management functions, including creating lease abstracts, performing site visits, participating in construction management, leasing and property management calls, reviewing monthly property reports and annual budgets, and participating and assisting in leasing and budgeting processes

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree; Business or Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of real estate experience preferred
  •  Knowledge of local commercial real estate markets and Southeast markets preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Argus DCF/AE required, familiarity with PowerPoint, InDesign and other presentation or desktop publishing applications preferred
  • Strong math and advanced research skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a timely and thorough manner
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The qualified candidate will be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
