Winthrop Management LP, ("Winthrop") provides comprehensive property management and construction management services for Winthrop Realty Trust, AREA Property Partners, the syndicated partnerships of Winthrop Realty Partners, and a limited number of private ownership groups. Winthrop Management, LP was established in 1975 as a privately held real estate investment management company.

Winthrop is looking to hire a class of analysts to support the loan servicing needs outlined below. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Work as a team with commercial real estate loan portfolio asset managers
  • Request reporting packages and updates from borrowers to complete reports and analysis, as necessary
  • Proactively monitor local markets, real estate industry news and trends as well as specific tenant health
  • Review monthly loan reporting packages and summarize key metrics, changes and risks
  • Prepare analysis of borrower and guarantor financial statements
  • Monitor borrower loan compliance and covenants including milestone hurdles, reporting requirements and performance metrics
  • Monitor loan level reserves including interest, taxes, insurance and other holdbacks
  • Review construction loan draws and project progress against milestones including working with servicers and construction consultants to ensure borrowers have achieved conditions precedent to funding
  • Prepare abstracts of commercial loan documents
  • Produce monthly and quarterly surveillance summaries and reporting for senior review which contain all relevant information related to monitoring borrower performance against business plan and compliance against loan documents as well as aggregated portfolio metrics
  • Prepare cash flow models used for forecasting and investment performance
  • Generate new reporting as necessary to monitor evolving risks
  • Externally interact with borrowers, servicers, individual market experts and other transaction parties
  • Meet strict monthly and quarterly deadlines
  • Respond quickly and professionally to ad-hoc questions requests for analysis
  • Interact closely with Boston, MA and New York, NY teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with real estate terminology and financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in high pressure environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and pitch in where needed

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in Real Estate, Business or Finance
