Opportunity to join a growing New York based investment firm focused on real estate securities. We are seeking to add a junior financial analyst who will work in all areas of the firm, including investments, trades and fund accounting, and investor relations.
Firm Description:
LDR Capital Management currently manages approximately $500 million in a real estate securities focused fixed income strategy. We provide a range of commingled and bespoke solutions within institutional, family office, and financial intermediary channels.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to generate, research and implement investment ideas.
- Research and analyze market data, build and maintain financial models using advanced Excel, and evaluate target companies’ strategies via conference calls and in-person management meetings.
- Prepare internal written reports to communicate and document research and investment opinions.
- Perform trading functions from pre-trade analysis (e.g. market liquidity), trade entry and execution, and post-trade booking and settlement.
- Work with the firm’s Controller on fund accounting, maintain trade records, and investigate and resolve trade breaks.
- Maintain Excel spreadsheets of portfolio positions and valuation metrics for each Fund holding, as well as for each security in the sector.
- Work with head of investor relations / marketing to create and maintain data used in marketing materials.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Attention to detail, but also ability to look at the broader picture
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills essential
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting and GAAP financial statements
- Experience with financial modeling and valuation methodologies
- Knowledge of statistical analysis a plus
- Experience with Bloomberg a plus, but not required
- Experience in buy-side or sell-side research an advantage, but not required
- Past experience with trade processing and reconciliation an advantage, but not required
