Senior Property Accountant
SUMMARY: Prepares all financial statements and provides management/client with financial information requested
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews Balance Sheets and Income Statements per property to verify account balances and reasonable revenue and expense amounts.
- Ensures the accuracy of all general ledger information.
- Review invoices and verifies the accuracy of coding.
- Maintain the accuracy of schedules/work papers to the monthly financial reports.
- Assists in the preparation of tenant move-in & move-outs.
- Performs annual CAM reconciliations and assembles the necessary detail for accounts receivables use.
- Prepares financial reports, including budget, payroll, insurance, tax, fixed assets, amortization/depreciation, and CAM information.
- Ensures reports/documents are forwarded to auditors and maintains applicable documentation.
- Informs management as to any discrepancies or any other problem areas that may exist that arise from the audit.
- Meets Accounting Department calendar deadlines.
- Monitor Cash Flow.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Assists Accountant(s) with the preparation of funding requests.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Assists with complex projects.
- Assists with the preparation of business plans and special projects.
- Other related duties may be assigned, as necessary.
- Prepare financial reports for property under development and prepare loan draws.
- Improves processes related to the above duties and responsibilities.
- Prepares monthly financial reports for small to large company portfolios
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE and ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university
- YARDI experience
- 5-7 years of Real estate industry experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with CAM/Tax billings
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
