Company Background:

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for and involved in deal underwriting, financial modelling, market research, investment due diligence, and asset management at all stages of an investment.
  • Create and maintain cash flow valuation models for both existing and new investments.
  • Asset management functions responsibilities including assisting to deliver business plans, maintaining models, property valuations, preparing and reviewing capital draws, and other reporting requirements.
  • Compile investment committee memos for new investment opportunities, both equity and debt.
  • Assist in deal screening efforts.
  • Analyze and report on market trends impacting specific investments.
  • Assist with various major transactions, such as construction financing, refinancing’s, recapitalization, or sales processes, including assembling and updating due diligence materials, closing statement reviews, and maintain centralized access for materials.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a major in real estate, economics, or finance preferred.
  • Ideally 1-3 years of commercial real estate or finance experience with an investment firm, REIT, brokerage, bank, real estate advisor, or insurance company.
  • Excellent financial modelling skills, including understanding structures of cash flow models.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to report financial analyses in concise written and verbal formats.
  • Sound understanding of economic and investment theory and practices.
  • Superior writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Argus software helpful.
  • Ability to gather, organize, coordinate, and interpret data from disparate sources.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with a commitment to providing a high-quality work product.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to proactively seek new responsibilities.
  • Well organized, accurate, detail oriented and thorough, and able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to professionally interact with on-site staff, senior management and third-party clients.
  • Flexibility in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
