SUMMARY:

The CRE Associate must have demonstrated understanding and experience in the analysis of commercial real estate lending.  Primary responsibility is to provide end to end analytical support for the commercial real estate lending team.  The Commercial Real Estate analyst/associate will function as a critical team member with responsibilities including initial deal analysis, due diligence collection, reparation of credit memorandums, loan closing, and support of the credit and portfolio management side of the business as needed.

All essential duties and responsibilities must be performed in accordance with established Bank’s policies and procedures, compliance and regulations, and Bank’s privacy policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong skills in financial analysis and credit analysis for various asset classes within the commercial real estate product line, including multifamily, mixed-use, retail, office and industrial assets.
  • Produce deal sizing and evaluations for internal review with the commercial real estate underwriting and banker.
  • Review financial statements, tax returns and cash flow statements of Borrowers and Guarantors.
  • Review third party and property level specific documents.
  • Preparation of sensitivity and stress case scenarios based on property cash flows.
  • Maintain commercial real estate pipeline and status report for ongoing deals.
  • Participate in pipeline, deal kickoff and status calls and lead loan closing process.
  • Interact with brokers, attorneys, borrowers, and clients to obtain due diligence/reporting, and obtain satisfactory answers to underwriting questions.
  • Conduct due diligence, prepare and present credit memorandum to credit committees, and provide ongoing portfolio monitoring as needed.
  • Demonstrate excellent excel modeling and presentation skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Real Estate, Finance, or Economics.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in commercial real estate lending.
  • Real Estate market knowledge of Tri-State area.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct market level research (rent comparables, sales comparables, and additional market data) to support lending decisions.
  • Mastery of excel and proficiency in modeling multiple financial scenarios.
  • Experience with Salesforce, nCino, and Argus a plus.
Strong multi-tasker- accuracy and attention to detail is critical
