The company opened its first property in San Francisco in 2013.  Today, Priya Living operates three communities in California. Priya Living is currently expanding its unique product across the US. In the next year, Priya expects to begin construction in at least three new cities – Dallas, Houston, and Detroit.  While Priya Living’s headquarters is in San Francisco, it has recently set up a satellite Development Office in New York City.

 

About the Role

Priya Living is seeking to hire a Development Associate (DA) to drive new business and execute on existing projects for the company globally. Working closely with the Head of Development, the DA will serve a key role in analyzing new project feasibility (including underwriting and due diligence) and presenting the business case to greenlight projects.  The DA will then take ownership of new projects and act as the lead development project manager.  A rapidly growing company, the position has great room for growth and advancement within the company.

 

Responsibilities

The DA will be responsible for developing the formal business plans for development and value add projects and making the case for project authorization through quantitative and qualitative means.  The DA will also be the project manager on active development and construction projects from inception to project closeout with their key responsibility being to ensure that the business plan is followed as the project unfolds.  Functions include underwriting, research for new and existing markets and market analysis, project reporting (including budgeting, cost tracking and forecasting), design and development consultant management, schedule management, legal agreement development and management, and investor relations (investor packages, marketing materials, meeting management).

Qualifications

BA/BS

 

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an analyst/project management role or the educational equivalent plus experience (eg. MBA or Real Estate Master Program and internships).

Strong communications (oral and written) and modeling skills.

Collaborative, dynamic, a self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced setting with a desire to learn the development business.


Location

New York City based with travel as needed to headquarters in San Francisco and to project sites across the country.
