Summary:

Savills is seeking a senior research analyst to provide high-level research support for the firm’s practice groups, which specialize in the rapidly evolving technology, legal and life sciences sectors. Working with the senior director, head of research platform initiatives, the successful candidate will support all aspects of collecting and analyzing commercial real estate market data, production of reports and thought-leadership pieces, and beyond. This position presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated commercial real estate research professional with several years of experience to specialize in specific industry-related trends and make valuable connections for future advancement. There is some flexibility in working location within the U.S., aligning to a major Savills office location in the Pacific time zone.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the technology, legal, and life sciences sectors; contribute to the quarterly market statistics process including data collection, verification, and analysis
  • Provide regular updates to, and maintenance of, proprietary market information databases including building and owner information, tenant activity, and other key data points
  • Identify insights on market activity, conditions and trends to maintain competitive advantage through market expertise and analysis
  • Develop strong rapport with Savills research counterparts nationally to exchange best practices and market moving data
  • Work with brokerage, marketing, and graphics teams to best position research to contribute to business development and client service efforts
  • Respond to all internal and external clients’ requests for data and information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in client meetings as needed and prepare written market materials
  • Attend all relevant team meetings and actively contribute to local and national research insights
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the research and brokerage teams
  • Stay calm under pressure, accept direction and critique, and enjoy working in a fast paced, self-directed environment

Experience/Education/Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of related real estate and/or research and analysis experience
  • Experience in industry research departments a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong problem-solving, analytic and data visualization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Accomplished with Microsoft Office suite, internet research, and various other types of analytical and presentation software, Tableau and Salesforce experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize workload under pressure
  • Self-starter who works independently and thinks proactively and strategically
