JPB Partners, LLC (“JPB”), a private equity and real estate investment firm, based in Hanover, Maryland is currently seeking a Real Estate Acquisitions Associate to join our team. This position will be reporting directly to the Managing Director, Real Estate.  The position is responsible for sourcing, originating, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of commercial real estate investments.  JPB Real Estate focuses primarily on income producing assets in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, as well as new development opportunities in and around DC/Baltimore metro area.  

 

Preferred candidates will have a proven track record in real estate business development with a strong financial and analytical background. The position contributes to the continual development of JPB Partners’ vision, strategy, and organizational improvement.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess macro and micro economic trends to identify markets for future investments.
  • Develop investment thesis for pursuit of opportunities focused in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
  • Develop and maintain communication with database of investment resources.
  • Collaborate with real estate leadership in all management activities associated with acquisitions – sourcing, diligence, financing, and financial analysis; manage dispositions; and asset management.
  • Support leadership in preparation of investment offerings, pursuit of financing relationships, and presentation to internal investment committee.
  • For portfolio investments, support asset management team with budgeting, deferred maintenance programs, and general oversight.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant real estate investment/business development experience
  • Experience with due diligence process for asset acquisitions
  • Strong quantitative, financial analysis, and modeling skills using Excel
  • Persistence in pursuit of investment opportunities
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and prioritization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in groups and take ownership of tasks
  • Ability to interact with external partners, brokers, and investors
  • Attention to detail and a strong desire to grow and succeed
  • High ethics and integrity

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science/Business Administration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management (with a concentration in Finance or Real Estate), MS in Finance,  or MS in Real Estate from an accredited college or university.
