RMWC (“RMWC”) is an integrated real estate debt fund manager that is an active commercial real estate lender across the U.S. RMWC originates or acquires first mortgage, mezzanine and preferred equity investments against commercial real estate assets across all asset types including multifamily, condominium, office, self-storage, industrial, retail and hospitality properties. Deal types include land/pre-development, development, cost overrun financing, heavy value add, light value add and stabilized properties.

 

Founded in 2008, RMWC is run by a highly experienced management team headquartered in New York, NY, with regional offices in San Francisco, CA and Cleveland, OH. The Underwriting Team is responsible for identifying, structuring, and executing investments for RMWC across a series of discretionary debt funds. The role features significant exposure to the firm’s senior management, including the CEO and CIO who together bring extensive, diverse experience that previously includes co-founder of Bain Capital, CEO of two global companies, and Lehman Brothers before, during, and after the bankruptcy and value recovery periods.

 

RMWC is seeking a Senior Analyst to join its Underwriting Team. This position is in NYC.

 

 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Underwrite new deals, including due diligence, modeling cash flows and financial returns, working with co-lender partners, loan document negotiation, and closing of investments.
  • Build financial models to value and analyze potential debt and equity investments.
  • Support senior originators to screen and model potential new investment opportunities.
  • Coordinate the due diligence process, including presenting investment opportunities to RMWC’s investment committee for approval.
  • Work closely with the CIO to underwrite and finalize deal terms.
  • Work closely with legal counsel to negotiate loan agreements, inter-creditor agreements and related legal documentation.
  • Lead third-party consultants throughout the due-diligence process.
  • Perform property tours of proposed or active investments as required.
  • Monitor investments post-closing in coordination with the asset management team.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Real Estate or a similar degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in the real estate finance industry (debt experience preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple transactions at a time in a fast paced, deadline-driven work environment.
  • Candidate will have a significant desire to learn and grow within the real estate finance industry.
  • Exposure to legal documentation and due diligence in a transactional environment a plus.
  • Self-motivated worker capable of working in a dynamic, team setting as well as independently with an entrepreneurial spirit.
