Position Description:
Portfolio Accountant-Development will perform financial, accounting and reporting functions for an open-end core fund development operations. Responsibilities include:

Development Tasks
• Share responsibility for development accounting
• Review monthly development financial reports and provide feedback to development partners.
• Assist with the onboarding of new development partners and projects.
• Set up approved budgets into MRI for all new constructions
• Review and fund monthly construction draws for buildings under construction and 1st generation tenant improvements and commissions
• Handle change orders within MRI and monthly draw packages.
• Provide support to construction manager and asset mangers on construction related accounting tasks.
• Track all development loans, both internal and external.
• Assist with calculating and booking interest on all development loans.
• Code and process payments for construction invoices and wires.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations from development partners.
• Special projects, as required
Corporate Tasks
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for about 30 corporate accounts

Job Requirements:
• 2- 4 Years minimum experience
• Real estate accounting background preferred
• Development accounting background preferred
• CPA certification (or close to completion)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
• Microsoft Excel required with knowledge of MRI or comparable system a plus
• Highly motivated self-starter who must be able to meet tight reporting deadlines
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to independently solve problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
