As Realty Income’s Senior Accountant, UK, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports and annual financial statements for our UK portfolio. This position can be located either in our Corporate offices in San Diego, CA, or Phoenix, AZ.
Your Contribution to the Team Includes
General Ledger - Complete select month-end close procedures for the company’s UK portfolio in accordance with US GAAP. Accurately reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to meet the company’s reporting deadline.
- Prepare monthly UK bank reconciliations.
- Prepare quarterly US GAAP to UK GAAP adjustments.
- Prepare quarterly UK VAT (Value-Added Tax) returns.
Financial Analysis and reporting - Prepare quarterly UK management accounts and distributions.
- Prepare annual UK financial statements and disclosures for statutory audits. Act as liaison with company’s external auditors.
- Perform UK completion balance sheet research and opening balance reconciliation for new UK entity acquisitions.
- Provide budget vs. actual financial variance fluctuation analysis for select UK general ledger accounts.
- Prepare quarterly UK debt covenant reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting - Support Property Management and Finance teams in quarterly and annual UK property budgeting and forecasting process.
Accounts Payable - Review UK wire coding for accuracy.
Other - Ability to handle and analyze large quantity of data.
- Ability to review current processes for improvement and efficiency.
- Support/Back up other property accounting functions as needed.
What You'll Need to be Successful - 4 year Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Public accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Real estate industry experience is preferred.
- UK GAAP experience is preferred but not required.
- Certified Public Accountant license is preferred.
- Must be organized, detailed, flexible, efficient and take ownership of own work product.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
