Steiner NYC is a boutique real estate development and construction firm that has built over 10 million square feet. We own, develop, build, lease, and manage all property types: residential, retail, commercial, industrial, and special purpose. Steiner NYC is seeking a Retail Leasing Associate to drive all retail leasing and support the Chairman. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented, a team player, able to prioritize work under deadline pressure and must exercise initiative, be highly organized and capable of multi-tasking.
- Drive results in lease request packages. Prepare lease forms and related documents timely and submit to Chairman for approval.
- Deal-making: assist with the negotiation of deal terms and leases. Follow deal through execution and store opening.
- Present business deals to Chairman for approval.
- Prepare abstracts for contracts and leases.
- Maintain regular communication with all involved departments, including legal, development, construction and property management.
- Communicate tactfully and skillfully with third-party brokers; ownership; prospective and existing tenants; and employees of various levels.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of local competition.
- Work closely with in-house Development/Construction teams from schematic design to project completion on base building, tenant spaces, and common areas.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail leasing experience in NYC
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Knowledge of deal structures, lease terminology and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Workshare Compare, a plus
- Sweats the small stuff, strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional ability to organize work and tasks, and excellent follow-through
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and execute effectively against multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff within the company
- Self-motivated individual who takes personal ownership of the properties and exercises independent judgment while also being a team player.
- Demonstrated passion for learning new things and continuous improvement
