LivCor, a Blackstone portfolio company, is a real estate asset management business specializing in multi-family housing. The Director – Research & Analytics will be responsible for leading LivCor’s application of data to strategy across the different functional areas of the organization. This is a newly developed role that will be responsible for research design, analysis of internal and external data, and its translation into actionable recommendations to provide LivCor with a competitive advantage in the multi-family industry.

What you will do:

  • Lead LivCor’s market research and analytics to provide competitive advantage and actionable insights for LivCor’s existing portfolio, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Analyze/synthesize internal property performance data, third party data, and broader market trends to provide operational forecast guidance for new and existing assets.
  • Drive the vision, strategy, and execution for LivCor’s research and analytics platform, including model construction and enhancement.
  • Cultivate continuous innovation of LivCor’s applied data deliverables by creating new quantitative analytic content and data visualizations to communicate sector-specific trends.
  • Collaborate with and assist the Transactions team in underwriting new investments of rent growth and occupancy by leveraging market insights.
  • Collaborate with and assist the Revenue Management and Asset Management teams in budget forecasting of rent growth and occupancy by leveraging market insights.
  • Present to senior leadership, Blackstone, and other stakeholders.
  • Track local market content (employer relocations, regulatory news, etc.) and share take-aways with internal stakeholders.

 

What you should have:

Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, data science, or related field preferred.  Eight (8) to Twelve (12) years of multifamily related experience is required.  The right candidate will be an industry subject matter expert with significant leadership experience in the following:

  • Unique expert on market trends, modeling and forecasting.
  • Deep understanding of cap rates and the drivers of shifts over time and across asset classes.
  • Experience sourcing and overseeing third party data relationships.
  • Cultivating strong, agile partnerships that foster the professional development of colleagues.
    • Future potential for this role to oversee a growing team of Market Analysts.
  • Knowledge of and experience with developing and implementing multifamily investment strategies with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Direct subject matter experience in market trends, census data, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and other key 3rd-party data sources that offer insight into market fundamentals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – including formal presentations.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
