Responsibilities

As an Analyst - Multifamily with Hines, you will be primarily responsible for reviewing financial models and identifying key underwriting assumptions for multifamily investment opportunities across North America. The Analyst will work daily with the Hines Americas Living team on a variety of tasks, including ad hoc assignments as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Identify key deal risk and underwriting assumptions across both new developments and acquisitions
  • Participate in market/product tours, as well as, relevant conferences
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external use
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and quarterly investor reports as assigned
  • Ad hoc assignments

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline from an accredited institution

  • One or more years of experience in multifamily development or acquisitions preferred

  • Exposure to commercial real estate

  • Interest in Finance, Construction and/or Architecture

  • Financial underwriting skills required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an eye for detail and a history of problem solving

  • Possess a sense of urgency and the desire to grow a business along with educational and work experience that demonstrates proficiency in financial analysis

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Ability to quickly learn industry standard software (i.e. Apartment Developer, RedIQ)

  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements

  • Ability to think analytically

  • Ability to handle very stressful, high pressured atmosphere

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to meet deadlines

  • Strong interest in real estate
