ASSET MANAGEMENT ANALYST| NASHVILLE, TN

OakPoint is seeking a qualified individual to join the company as an entry level analyst in the asset management group.  This role will work directly with the asset management team as well as senior leadership and be exposed to a wide variety of analytical work at a real estate investment company. The role will be located at the OakPoint headquarters in Nashville, TN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a large role in creating the annual budgets for all owned assets in the OakPoint portfolio. Coordinating with asset managers, property managers, and OakPoint partners to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of budgets.
  • Working with the VP Finance and asset managers, create the quarterly reports for all owned assets for distribution to investors in a timely manner.
  • Generate monthly financial reports for each owned asset showing variances to budget with explanations for review by OakPoint partners.
  • Analyze lease transactions, perform tenant credit review as needed, and assist asset managers and partners in the preparation of lease agreements.
  • Create and maintain financial models for leasing, sell/hold, refinance and other ad hoc analyses on existing portfolio of investments.
  • Assist in disposition or refinance process, including preparation of return metrics and sales/refinance rationale, interfacing with brokers and legal counsel, and coordinating closing and post-closing efforts.
  • Coordinate communications to investors regarding capital calls, performance of assets, and distributions via email and Juniper Square software.
  • Review, analyze, comprehend, abstract and interpret various types of real estate documents, including leases, rent rolls, budgets, operating statements, expense recovery reconciliations, loan agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and other information.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, preferably in real estate, finance, business, accounting, economics or related area.
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts such as discounted cash flows, net present values, internal rates of return, return on equity, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel.
  • Prior financial modeling experience is required.
  • Prior Argus modeling experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Great work ethic and ability to commit to demanding hours in a fast-paced setting.
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial work environment and be self-motivated.
