Allianz Real Estate (“ARE”) is the captive investment and asset manager for real estate within the Allianz Group.  With more than $72 billion of AUM, IPE has ranked ARE as the largest institutional real estate investor in the world.  We develop and execute tailored investment strategies for the Allianz Group, focusing on direct and indirect equity globally and commercial real estate loans in Europe and the U.S. 

Allianz Real Estate of America LLC (”AREoA”) is the U.S.-based hub for Allianz Real Estate.  AREoA makes equity and debt investments in the top metropolitan areas in the U.S. and manages an existing portfolio of direct investments alongside joint venture partners, fund commitments and commercial mortgage loans, amounting to nearly $20 billion.


  • Contribute to the development of a robust house view regarding real estate market prospects in the US and Canada in coordination with the Global Head of Research and the US team
  • Partner with the Global Head of Research to assist the US team in the development of real estate investment strategies based on sound market data, keen analysis and a dispassionate evaluation of market trends
  • Be responsible for report provision to third parties / Allianz clients including data management, analysis and distribution
  • Provide market analysis and research support, presentations and reports to the Investment Committee, Executive Committee, CIO team, other ARE units and Allianz clients

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Produce and contribute to strategy papers on investment target sectors, markets and special topics for external clients
  • Quarterly reporting: Produce quarterly market reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Market analysis: Actively monitor and report key occupancy and national/global real estate capital market trends for reporting to Acquisition and Asset Management teams
  • Data management: Lead the collection, analysis and distribution of economic, financial, demographic and real estate market data
  • Forecasting: Assist in the development of 5-10 year modeled forecasts of real estate market fundamentals

 

Key Requirements

  • Higher degree (PhD preferred) in real estate, or economics,  finance with additional real estate experience
  • 5 to 10 years experience in investment deal research and sound understanding of macro-economic theories and capital markets
  • Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written English (working language at ARE)
  • Must be able to translate key research messages into succinct presentation points. Strong PC skills, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent analytical skills and outstanding attention to detail
  • Adapted at working in a fast-paced environment, dealing with different issues and meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to present complex issues in an adequate format on an international platform
  • Team player in an international matrix organization and also able to work independently
  • Proactive self-starter, able to motivate colleagues
