National real estate development and investment firm is currently hiring a Financial Analyst for their Tampa, Florida office.  This position offers direct access to senior management, excellent deal flow, and exposure to a variety of asset types and deal sizes across the US. The Analyst will have primary responsibility for constructing cash flow based acquisition financial models, ground up development financial models, cash flow waterfalls, and assembling internal and external investment memorandums. The ideal candidate will preferably have an MBA in Finance, Real Estate, or Economics, 5 to 7 years of commercial real estate experience, strong financial modeling and business writing skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, deal-oriented environment.


GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare Argus and Excel cash flow financial models for evaluation by the Investment Committee in connection with acquisition and development transactions
  • Initiate and perform property due diligence, including lease review, market research, distribution of information regarding equity and debt placement, etc.
  • Interact with other departments including acquisition, development, construction, asset management, etc. in underwriting a transaction
  • Communicate directly with brokers, owners, JV partners, etc. to attain relevant deal information in order to construct the initial financial model
  • Finalize all due diligence materials and provide detailed write ups and complete investment memorandums

SKILLS REQUIRED

                      

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years work experience in commercial real estate financial analysis with extensive use of Argus, Excel, and Word
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in real estate. 
  • Someone with an MBA in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Economics would be a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks with short deadlines
  • High level of thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who works well in a team environment
