Analyst – Asset Management

 

Company Description:

The firm is a real estate focused private equity firm that invests in a wide variety of opportunistic and value-oriented commercial real estate transactions where the conditions exist for compelling absolute returns over a short and medium duration. The firm invests throughout the United States in single property transactions and multiple property portfolios whereby the investment strategies are based on property-level operational enhancements as well as those with pricing advantages that arise from distressed, complex, and dislocated scenarios.

 

The firm’s investments are structured in numerous capital forms including direct equity, joint venture equity, preferred equity, mezzanine loans, and transitional first mortgages. Since 1993, the firm has invested in more than $12 billion of commercial real estate on behalf of a diversified and highly regarded group of endowments, foundations, public and corporate pension plans, financial institutions, family offices, and sovereign entities.

 

Responsibilities:

CrossHarbor Capital Partners is seeking an Analyst to join its debt platform.  Reporting to the head of Asset Management, this person will join a highly-collaborative, fast paced, and growing team. 

 

In conjunction with the head of Asset Management, the analyst’s primary responsibility will be to proactively monitor the execution of borrower business plans against underwriting for assets that the firm has financed.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Interface with borrowers, loan servicer and warehouse providers vis-a-via preparing closing statements, onboarding new loans and reviewing and summarizing monthly loan draws.
  • Read Investment Committee Memorandums and Loan Agreements to understand the asset, borrower business plans, loan structure and funding details.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing quarterly asset management materials and quarterly collateral valuations.
  • Proactively monitor and evaluate the on-going performance of investments against underwriting and execution of borrower business plans.
  • Review monthly financial results to understand actual operating performance and variances to underwriting and budget.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience with exposure to the commercial real estate industry.
  • Broad based financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Outstanding level of organization, attention to detail, accountability, integrity, and ethics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and driven to succeed.
