Property Accountant / Bookeeper

L.J. Sheridan & Co. is a full service boutique commercial real estate firm located in the west loop neighborhood in downtown Chicago. The company provides property management and brokerage servces to owners and users of office properties. The company is highly respected and well known through 85+ years of delivering professional real estate services in the Chicagoland area.

Seeking an organized individual with commercial real estate accounting / bookkeeping experience to oversee portfolio of 5 office buildings in Chicago. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lease setup and administration
• CAM setup and management of the annual CAM reconciliation process
• Cash application including management of Tenant Security Deposits
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Management (through Yardi)
• Manage Property Tax payments
• Tenant specific Utility billings
• Providing Operational reporting to asset manager and responding to requests for information
• Provide insight and information on all property operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of three years of Commercial Real Estate experience including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
• Intermediate level Excel and Word skills; Yardi accounting software experience 
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow, meet deadlines
• Versatility, flexibility, and comfortable working with fluid schedules and priorities
• Motivated self-starter able to work with minimal oversight to accomplish objectives
