State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio is one of the nation’s premier retirement systems, serving more than 435,000 active, inactive and retired Ohio public educators. STRS Ohio is the 17th largest pension fund in the country. Our investments are acquired and managed by in-house industry professionals. Real Estate's allocation is 6-12% of STRS Ohio's total investment portfolio. As of April 30, 2006, the real estate portfolio was valued at $4.8 billion, which represents 7.1% of the total investment portfolio of $88 billion. The gross market value of the assets in which the STRS Ohio Real Estate Department has invested is $7.7 billion.
